Hailey's Hope Foundation (HHF) is a New York non-profit 501(c)(3) organization established in December 2007 in loving memory of Hailey Zion, the daughter of Isaac and Donna Zion. Hailey was born prematurely at 21 weeks and passed away shortly after birth. HHF is our way of honoring our little angel Hailey and the eight NICU graduates of our Board members.
Our mission is to help families with premature and seriously ill babies hospitalized in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). While babies in the NICU receive the most advanced medical care possible, families often go unsupported. During this critical time, families often struggle as they cope with their babies' fragile health and the many difficult financial, emotional and physical challenges of a NICU hospitalization that can last days, weeks or even months. HHF's programs focus on the familes. We bring them hope, comfort, support (financial and emotional) and valuable information to help them better cope with these overwhelming challenges and empower them to play an integral role in their babies' survival and development.
Currently, we are partnered with the Regional NICU at Maria Fareri Children's Hospital at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, New York. This premier Level IV NICU (highest level, 50+ bed capacity) annually treats over 750 of the most premature and critically ill babies in New York's Hudson Valley region. We are working to expand our programs to reach more families in other local NICUs.
While no baby or family should have to spend time in the NICU, we realize that many will follow in our footsteps. HHF is working hard to comfort and support them, to give a voice to their needs and to make their paths a little easier to walk. Please know that you are not alone!
