LOCAL GIRLS SCOUTS HELPING NICU FAMILIES
Goshen, NY – April 1, 2014 – Local Girl Scout Troop # 119 lent a helping hand to Hailey’s Hope Foundation (HHF) on Friday, March 28, 2014 by packing 200 care packages and gift-wrapping 75 disposable cameras for local NICU families. These gifts will be delivered to NICU families at the Rowley Birthing Center at Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown. “We are so thrilled to be able to help this wonderful charity,” said Troop Leader, Marie Denardo. “HHF is making a tremendous difference in the lives of NICU families, and we are proud to be a part of that.” Volunteering their time and all of their hard work will bring comfort to families in need and also help these girl scouts earn their gold badge. “It is exciting to see young girls putting other peoples’ needs first and working together to positively impact their community. We greatly appreciate their support,” said HHF Board Member, Debra Randazzo.

Hailey’s Hope Foundation was established in 2007 to support the needs of families with premature and critically ill babies in New York-area Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs) and improve the quality of NICU care. In addition to providing NICU families with financial assistance for non-medical expenses, emotional support and educational information, Hailey’s Hope Foundation works closely with NICU staff to understand families’ needs and raises funds for NICU equipment and neonatal research.
